viva méxico

I recently returned from 5 days in Mexico with WWE. It’s the 4th or 5th time I have been there on assignment and despite the third world feeling of much of the country, it’s a visually rich environment, the people are always kind and they really love wrestling in this country.

If you are not familiar with the Lucha Libre history in Mexico (and no, the movie Nacho Libre doesn’t count) read up a little on the history. In short, they love their wrestling in Mexico.

We traveled to 4 cities and concluded the trip with two days of television taping in Mexico City, which is one of the world’s most populous cities. The fans were as interesting as ever and the fans were amazing. We send back images after each day and a small sampling of them make it the WWE.COM web site in a gallery.

While those shows are hard work and the days long, the end result of usually some great images with access that is unprecedented.

late to the party

The blogging party that is.

Is 2011 too late to get in on the blogging party? I know. What was I waiting for.

Truth be known, I find all this talking about one self (in blogs, Facebook, Twitter, etc) kind of narcissistic, but I’ll try to put this all behind me and be more open minded.

I hope to use this space to talk about what I’m up to in my work, anything related to imaging people. Whether it be photography, some cool behind the scenes stuff, the photography business and it’s all fair game.

Perhaps the reader agreement should be that if it seems like any of this communication sounds shallow, full of myself or just plain not cool, please let me know. This should be a two way communication, so speak up. All this one way conversing can get kind of lonely.

Wow, I want to be at this tasting! You really captured a mood in this lifestyle shot that feels real and beautiful. I can see so many opportunities in my work where this image would fit right in.

It’s never to late to start something new! Congrats on taking the leap to social media for the good of all of us in the creative industry.
