I recently returned from 5 days in Mexico with WWE. It’s the 4th or 5th time I have been there on assignment and despite the third world feeling of much of the country, it’s a visually rich environment, the people are always kind and they really love wrestling in this country.
If you are not familiar with the Lucha Libre history in Mexico (and no, the movie Nacho Libre doesn’t count) read up a little on the history. In short, they love their wrestling in Mexico.
We traveled to 4 cities and concluded the trip with two days of television taping in Mexico City, which is one of the world’s most populous cities. The fans were as interesting as ever and the fans were amazing. We send back images after each day and a small sampling of them make it the WWE.COM web site in a gallery.
While those shows are hard work and the days long, the end result of usually some great images with access that is unprecedented.
